New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has more than playoff hopes on his mind.
The NFL star is facing felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges stemming from an alleged altercation in Dedham, Massachusetts on December 2. Diggs, however, categorically denies all wrongdoing.
The Patriots released a statement Tuesday saying they are aware of the accusations, support Diggs, and will cooperate fully with authorities and the NFL.
Diggs is scheduled to be arraigned on January 23, just two days before the AFC Championship Game — should New England advance.
On the field, Diggs caught three passes for 26 yards in the Patriots’ Week 13 win over the Giants.
Off the field, he recently welcomed a child with rapper Cardi B in November.
