SILESIA, Poland — Jamaica’s Oblique Seville bounced back from his London defeat with a stunning 9.83 seconds to win the men’s 100m at Sunday’s Wanda Diamond League meeting in Silesia.
Running with a legal 1.4m/s tailwind, Seville broke the meeting record of 9.87 seconds, previously shared by three athletes, including fellow Jamaican Kishane Thompson.
American Kenneth Bednarek was second in 9.87, with Christian Coleman third in 9.93.
In other Jamaican performances, Brianna Lyston placed fourth in the women’s 100m in 10.96, while Nickisha Pryce ran a season-best 49.49 for second in the women’s 400m.
Megan Simmonds was second in the 100m hurdles in 12.62 seconds, while Rajindra Campbell and Roje Stona both finished sixth in their respective field events.
