ST JAMES, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised that a section of the Long Hill to Anchovy main road will be temporarily shut down on Sunday to allow for scheduled maintenance activities.
The affected stretch runs between Reading and Anchovy, specifically near the Anchovy–Comfort Hall intersection. The roadway will be inaccessible to most vehicles from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.
NWA officials said the closure is necessary to carry out drain cleaning, clear accumulated debris, and repair a damaged portion of the road surface. During the work period, access will be restricted, with only articulated vehicles permitted to pass through the area.
To manage traffic flow, drivers heading from Montego Bay toward Anchovy will be redirected along Bogue Hill and through Comfort Hall before reconnecting with the Anchovy roadway. Motorists traveling in the opposite direction will follow the same diversion in reverse.
The agency is urging road users to follow all temporary signage and comply with directions given by police officers and traffic flaggers on site.
