Jamaica’s Under-20 women’s soccer team triumphed over St. Vincent and the Grenadines with a decisive 7-0 victory in their opening match of the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 qualifying tournament.
The U-20 Reggae Girlz established their dominance early, leading 6-0 by halftime in the Group D encounter. Alyssa Stephenson was the standout performer, securing a hat-trick with goals in the 15th, 45th+1, and 60th minutes.
Avery Johnson extended the lead in the 25th minute, followed by Maya Raghunandan’s strike in the 29th. The team maintained relentless pressure, with Jaileah Cox McPherson and Andrene Smith adding goals in the 42nd and 44th minutes, respectively.
In the other Group D match, hosts Nicaragua overwhelmed St. Kitts and Nevis with an 8-0 scoreline.
Jamaica is set to face St. Kitts and Nevis in their next fixture on Saturday at the same venue, aiming to continue their strong performance in the tournament.
