ST. ANDREW, JAMAICA — A Jamaican man died at the United States Embassy in St. Andrew on Tuesday morning after experiencing a medical emergency.
According to a statement from the embassy, the man suffered a “medical episode” at approximately 8:20 a.m. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he did not survive.
The embassy confirmed that the body was later removed by a funeral home in accordance with local laws and procedures.
“Out of respect for the privacy of the deceased and the family, we are unable to provide further details,” the statement read. “The US Embassy Kingston extends sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
Authorities have not released the man’s identity or details on the nature of the medical emergency.
