PORT ANTONIO, JAMAICA — A fruit vendor was gunned down at his stall in Boundbrook, Port Antonio, on Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves through the usually quiet town.
The victim, identified only as Jason, was attacked around 7:30 a.m. when a gunman exited a motorcar and opened fire, hitting him multiple times. The sudden burst of gunfire sent bystanders scrambling for safety.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, but Jason succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet identified a motive for the killing.
This latest incident marks the fourth murder in Portland since the start of the year, raising concerns about rising violence in the parish. Police investigations are ongoing.
