Wanted St. Andrew Man Fatally Shot by Police in St. Thomas

PORT MORANT, St. Thomas – Orville ‘Marvin’ Dennie, a St. Andrew man featured on the police’s “Wanted Wednesday” social media campaign, was fatally shot by police in Port Morant, St. Thomas, early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the Fish Cove area.

Dennie, who resided in Airy Castle, Stony Hill, was wanted for murder and was also a person of interest in connection with several other crimes in the Airy Castle community. During the confrontation, police reportedly seized an illegal firearm.

Dennie’s death marks the 38th person killed by security forces since the beginning of the year, and the tenth such death in February. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched an investigation into the shooting.
