The Whithorn Police in Westmoreland are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 71-year-old retired auto parts dealer whose decomposed body was discovered in bushes on Sunday, one week after he was reported missing.
The deceased has been identified as Patrick Miller, otherwise called “Frank”, of Porter’s Mountain, Westmoreland. Miller, who was reportedly suffering from early dementia, was reported missing on Monday, July 13.
Reports are that about 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, residents in the River Head community of Whithorn discovered Miller’s decomposing body in bushes and alerted the police.
Lawmen processed the scene before the body was removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Investigators say they are awaiting the results of the post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Police added that until the examination is completed, foul play cannot be ruled out, and investigations into the case remain ongoing
