St. Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Two men linked to Saturday night’s horrific gun attack on a St James policeman and his family have been cut down in separate confrontations with the police during pre-dawn operations on Monday morning.
Dead is reputed gang leader Andre Reid, otherwise called “Likkle Zullu”, said to be the head of the Top Junglist/KDF Gang based in Catherine Mountain, St James.
Reports reaching McKoy’s News are that around 5:00 a.m., members of the security forces were conducting an intelligence-led operation in Shooters Hill, St Andrew, when they came under heavy gunfire from Reid. The police reportedly returned fire and Reid was shot.
He was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Cops also reportedly seized an AK-47 rifle with a magazine affixed containing five rounds at the scene.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation in St James, another suspect linked to the deadly attack was also fatally shot. That individual remains unidentified at this time.
“It was through coordinated town and country operations,” a police source stated , confirming that the operations were connected to the targeted execution-style shooting in Reading on Saturday night.
As previously reported, the gun ambush left 36-year-old Latoya Crystal Stephenson and her 5-year-old son, Zamir Morgan, dead, after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle along the Reading main road. Stephenson’s partner, a police constable assigned to the Lottery Scam Task Force, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police believe Reid was the mastermind behind the attack, which has left the island stunned and communities in mourning.
The security forces have vowed to relentlessly pursue all individuals linked to the deadly ambush.
