A man was shot dead at a garage in Top Bay, Annotto Bay, St Mary, on Sunday following an alleged dispute with a member of the Jamaica Defence Force.
The deceased has been identified as Tajay Wilson.
According to reports, Wilson was at the garage with a mechanic while an off-duty member of the JDF had his vehicle being examined.
An argument reportedly developed between Wilson and the soldier, who is said to be a licensed firearm holder. The soldier allegedly discharged his weapon, striking Wilson and the mechanic.
Wilson was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The mechanic was treated for his injuries and later released.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated.
