The St James Police have charged a teenager with the murder of 13-year-old Jessina Pearce, who was fatally stabbed during an altercation in Flanker, St James, last Thursday.
Police say the accused was handed over by residents and later charged following an interview in the presence of an attorney and statements from eyewitnesses.
The teenager’s court date is being finalised.
Meanwhile, the St James Police have carried out interventions in the Flanker community and at St James High School, providing support to Jessina’s family, classmates and members of the wider community following her death.
