HANOVER, Jamaica — A police operation in the Bamboo community early Friday morning has left a man, believed to be connected to the recent killing of dancehall entertainer Jaggy D, dead.
He has been identified as 30-year-old Romane Humphrey, also known as “CJ.”
Reports from law enforcement indicate that Humphrey was among individuals being actively pursued in relation to Tuesday’s broad daylight murder of the entertainer in Hopewell. During the operation, he allegedly engaged officers, resulting in an exchange of gunfire in which he was shot and killed.
Investigators suspect the entertainer’s killing may be linked to an ongoing dispute.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched an investigation into the fatal shooting as authorities continue their probe into the wider case.
