ST ANN, Jamaica — A security guard is receiving medical treatment after being shot during an attempted robbery at a gas station in the Draxhall area early Friday morning.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 4:00 a.m., the guard intervened in an attempt by criminals to steal an automated teller machine (ATM) located on the premises. During the confrontation, he was shot by the assailants.
The injured guard was subsequently transported to hospital, where he remains under treatment.
Further details surrounding the incident have not yet been disclosed.
