Atlanta-Based Rapper “Siditty” Fatally Shot; Family Alleges Pregnancy May Have Been Motive

ATLANTA, USA — Grief has engulfed both Detroit and Atlanta’s music communities following the fatal shooting of 36-year-old rapper Qualeisha Barnes, widely known by her stage name “Siditty.”

Barnes, a native of Southwest Detroit, had been residing in Atlanta for approximately a decade. Her life was tragically cut short earlier this week when she was discovered dead inside her vehicle after being shot. Family members have indicated that she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time and believe the pregnancy may have played a role in the attack.

Reports indicate the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in an Atlanta neighbourhood. Residents said they heard several gunshots—estimated between four and five—before observing a vehicle quickly leaving the scene.

Law enforcement officers responded and found Barnes unresponsive in the driver’s seat of her car. Preliminary investigations suggest that the assailant fired shots through the windshield before fleeing.

The Atlanta Police Department has since launched an investigation and is reviewing surveillance footage in the area as they work to establish the sequence of events and determine whether others were involved.

Beyond her music career, Barnes was also pursuing higher education and was reportedly close to completing a nursing degree. Her death has left relatives and loved ones devastated, as they call for justice and accountability.

Her mother, Lopez-Stewart, expressed strong sentiments regarding those responsible, insisting that anyone connected to the killing should face legal consequences.

Authorities continue to appeal to the public for any information that may assist with the investigation. Meanwhile, the loss has left a family mourning not only Barnes, but also her unborn child, both victims of what has been described as a senseless act of violence.
