Kahira Jones, one of the men implicated in the high-profile murder case involving dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel, was released from prison on Thursday morning after spending close to 15 years in custody.
Jones was convicted in 2014 alongside Kartel, Shawn Storm, and Andre St John for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
The other co-accused were freed in July 2024 after their convictions were overturned by the Privy Council. However, Jones remained behind bars due to separate firearm-related convictions.
In 2019, he received an 18-year sentence for wounding with intent, along with additional eight-year sentences for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
