Herbert Morrison Technical High School is marking a major milestone this week as the institution celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The week-long celebration, running from September 13 to 19, brings together current members of the school community, past students and other stakeholders to reflect on the institution’s five decades of service and achievements.

The celebrations officially got underway on Sunday, September 13, with a special church service at the Water Lane New Testament Church.

The commemorative activities continued on Monday, when several past students who attended the school during its early years returned to join in the anniversary celebrations.

One of the highlights was a special cake-cutting ceremony, which provided an opportunity for former students to reconnect, reminisce about their school days and celebrate the institution’s 50-year journey.

Members of McKoy’s News were on hand to capture highlights from the celebrations as past and present members of the Herbert Morrison community marked the occasion.

The anniversary activities are expected to continue throughout the week, providing opportunities to celebrate the school’s history, honour its past and look ahead to its future.
