Five Injured, Including Three Children, in Six-Vehicle Crash on Bridgeport Main Road

PORTMORE, St Catherine — A multi-vehicle collision along the Bridgeport main road in Portmore early Wednesday morning left five people injured, including three children.

Preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred shortly after 7:00 am and involved six vehicles travelling along the busy roadway.

Investigators say a Toyota Townace travelling east attempted to pass a line of vehicles. During the overtaking attempt, the vehicle reportedly collided with the front-right section of a BMW that was also heading in the same direction and was in the process of making a right turn.

The impact caused the Toyota Townace to overturn. Authorities say the vehicle was carrying three children at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, and five individuals who sustained serious injuries were transported to hospital for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
