Kanye West has once again stirred controversy, making jaw-dropping remarks about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and their children during a rambling interview with DJ Akademiks released on Sunday.
The rapper, who appeared wearing a black robe resembling KKK attire with a pointed hood, delivered mostly disjointed responses throughout the hour-long Q&A. However, things took a shocking turn when Akademiks asked about his co-parenting situation with Kim and their four children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Akademiks noted that Kanye frequently complains about Kim controlling their children and suggested that the rapper often avoids taking responsibility for his actions. Surprisingly, Kanye agreed but then made a startling admission:
“That was my fault. I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with her, but that wasn’t God’s plan,” Kanye said. Kim and Kanye were married for six years before divorcing in 2022.
The interview only grew more troubling when Kanye attempted to justify a previous social media post where he questioned the mental capacity of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children. Despite widespread condemnation, Kanye claimed the post was “the best or the strongest” of his controversial statements, comparing it to his past remarks endorsing Nazis and Adolf Hitler.
DJ Akademiks appeared uncomfortable with the comparison, but Kanye continued without hesitation.
In recent months, Kanye’s behavior has grown increasingly erratic, sparking concerns over his mental health and the harmful impact of his inflammatory rhetoric. Despite backlash from the public and the entertainment industry, he appears to be doubling down on his controversial remarks.
As Kanye continues to spiral, many are left wondering what, if anything, will prompt him to seek help or take accountability for his words and actions.
