Police Sergeant Electrocuted While Trimming Tree in St Catherine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A police sergeant assigned to the Protective Services Division was tragically electrocuted on Sunday evening while trimming a tree at his home in Eltham Acres, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The deceased has been identified as Sergeant William Wallace.

Reports indicate that Wallace was trimming an almond tree in his yard when he came into contact with a high-tension wire. The impact of the electrocution proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the incident, which has left colleagues and community members in shock. Wallace was described as a dedicated officer known for his commitment to his duties within the Protective Services Division.
