RUNAWAY BAY, St Ann — Police have launched an investigation into the murder of a 63-year-old man who was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Runaway Bay, St Ann.
The deceased has been identified as Irwin Thompson of Swamp District, Moneague, St Ann.
According to reports, residents of Rickets Drive, Runaway Bay, heard explosions around 6:29 a.m. and alerted the police. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Thompson lying along the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Discovery Bay Criminal Investigations Branch is leading the probe into Thompson’s death. So far, no motive has been established for the killing.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
