Jeremy Tremaine Williams was executed by lethal injection in Alabama on Thursday evening for the 2021 capital murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland.
The execution took place at 6:16 p.m. CDT after Governor Kay Ivey declined to intervene and directed corrections officials to carry out Williams’ death sentence.
According to authorities, Williams sexually abused and killed Holland after paying her mother $2,500. Prosecutors said the abuse was recorded on Williams’ cellphone.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall described the case as one of the most atrocious crimes committed against a child in the state.
The Alabama Supreme Court had authorized the execution on June 16, 2026.
