COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of Dr. Spencer Tepe and his wife, Monique, who were found dead inside their Weiland Park residence just before the New Year.
The couple’s two young children, ages 1 and 4, were in the home at the time of the attack but were unharmed. They are now being cared for by relatives along with the family’s dog.
Police say Dr. Tepe, a local dentist, was discovered by colleagues after he failed to report to work at his practice on December 30. Upon checking on the residence, they found the couple deceased on the second floor.
Columbus Police have since released surveillance footage showing a person of interest walking near the Tepe home in cold-weather clothing around the estimated time of the shooting. Investigators believe the incident occurred between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., noting there were no signs of forced entry and no weapons have been recovered.
Authorities have not yet identified a suspect. Police hope the released video will aid in advancing the investigation and bringing those responsible to justice.
