After months of anticipation, Selena Gomez’s new Rare Beauty makeup brand is finally available to shop both at Sephora (online and in stores) and at RareBeauty.com.
The 28-year-old superstar’s mission-driven cosmetics company is launching with close to 20 different products in a wide range of colors; its Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation ($29) and Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer ($19) are both launching with an impressive 48 shades.
Also available are a liquid eyeliner, liquid blush (in eight shades, four dewy and four matte), tinted lip balm (in eight shades), liquid highlighter (in eight shades), matte liquid lipstick (in 12 shades) and a brow pencil and gel duo (in eight shades).
Rare Beauty is also offering several skincare products to start, including an illuminating primer, a setting mist and blotting papers, along with two makeup brushes — one for foundation, the other for concealer. Prices range from $5 (for the blotting papers) to $29 (for the foundation).
“I’m so excited to release beauty products that not only feel great, but also celebrate what makes each of us rare,” Gomez said in a press release. “These products aren’t about being someone else, it’s about being who you are, whether that’s rocking a full face of bold makeup or barely any makeup at all. Makeup is something to enjoy, it’s not something you need. I want every person to feel beautiful exactly as they are.”
And there’s a mission-driven component to the company, too: From the first Rare Beauty product sold onward, one percent of all sales, as well as funds raised from partners, will be dedicated to the Rare Impact Fund to help provide mental health services to underserved communities. The fund has committed to raising $100 million over the next 10 years.
