A tragic accident on the Mandela Highway in Central Village, St. Catherine, has claimed the life of 27-year-old Kemisha Thompson, a cosmetologist of Washington Drive in Windsor Heights, Central Village.
Thompson, who was struck by a car on Wednesday night, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday while receiving treatment at the Spanish Town Hospital.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reports indicate that Thompson was crossing a section of the highway near Sherwin Williams when she was hit by a Nissan Caravan motor vehicle.
She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she sadly passed away the following day.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released about the driver of the vehicle or whether charges may be filed.
