Westmoreland woman who stole over $900,000 from her employer, arrested and charged

A Westmoreland woman who went into hiding after she was given cash amounting to over $900,000 by her employer to be deposited at a nearby bank, but failed to make the transaction, has been arrested and charged by the Savanna la mar police.

The accused, has been identified as 29-year-old Crestida Lewis, otherwise called ‘Tanya’, a cashier of New Building district in Naine, Westmoreland.

Reports are that, Lewis who was employed as a cashier to an established in Savanna la mar, was given cash amounting to over $900,000 by her employer, to be deposited at a bank, but she never turned up at the bank.

It is further discovered that Lewis did not make the deposit, but instead she gave conflicting stories and failed to hand back over the cash to her employer.

The matter was reported to the police, and following an investigation, Lewis was featured on social media, on the JCF Wanted Wednesdays Campaign list.

She finally turned herself over to the police on the weekend, where she was questioned, and then arrested and subsequently charged with Larceny as a Servant.

She is booked to appear before the Savanna la mar Parish Court next Tuesday, April 23
