Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Bluefields police in the parish of Westmoreland are now carrying out investigations surrounding the shooting and wounding of a 42-year-old Mason, in the Bluefields area on Sunday afternoon, May 13.
Reports by the police are that about 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, the wounded man was driving his 2004 white Honda motor car at a section of the Belmont community in the Bluefields area known as Top Street.
On reaching a section of the roadway, he was ambushed and shot by unknown assailants. The wounded man lost control of the vehicle which crashed into a utility pole.
Residents in the area alerted the police, but before the lawmen could arrive on the scene other motorist assisted the injured man to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
