The Meteorological Service of Jamaica has issued a forecast indicating that a trough currently affecting the island will continue to influence local weather conditions in the coming days.
A brief respite is anticipated on Monday as a weak ridge builds over the region. However, by Tuesday, a tropical wave will usher in more unsettled weather patterns. The tropical wave is expected to bring isolated morning showers to eastern parishes, followed by widely scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms across much of Jamaica. Windy conditions will also be prevalent throughout the day, especially along southern coastal areas.
Weather conditions are projected to improve slightly by Wednesday, with partly cloudy skies expected in the morning over eastern parishes. Isolated showers are forecasted for hilly areas in the afternoon.
On Thursday, widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to return in the afternoon, impacting most parishes. The morning is expected to remain partly cloudy.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and take necessary precautions, particularly in flood-prone areas.
