The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has announced significant progress in its ongoing efforts to apprehend wanted individuals. Within a 24 hours period three persons featured on the JCF’s online Wanted Wednesdays campaign have been accounted for. Two have been captured, while the third was fatally shot during a police confrontation.
Romario Grant, also known as ‘Kaka,’ who was wanted for murder in the St. Andrew South Police area and featured on Wanted Wednesdays in June, was apprehended by Kingston Eastern Police. Grant was captured after officers intercepted the vehicle he was traveling in on Buds Crescent, Kingston 2.
In another development, twenty-five-year-old Michael Williams, known as ‘Dry Goods,’ was arrested in the Bogue area, St. James, on Saturday, September 14. Williams was subsequently charged following the execution of a warrant.
However, the JCF reported a tragic incident involving forty-three-year-old Andrew Powell, also known as ‘Killer’ or ‘Bounty.’ Powell was fatally shot during a confrontation with police on Kings Street, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, around 4:55 p.m. on September 14.
These recent actions highlight the JCF’s dedication to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety. The force remains committed to the relentless pursuit of wanted criminals to bring them to justice.
The public is encouraged to report information on guns, gangs, and wanted persons to Crime Stop at 311 or the NIB Tipline at 811.
