WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — A two-vehicle collision early Sunday morning on the Waterworks main road in Westmoreland has resulted in the deaths of a father and his three-month-old son.
The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Ronaldo Kirlew and his infant son, Dinario Kirlew, both residents of Galloway, Logwood in Whithorn.
Reports are that around 7:30 a.m., Kirlew was driving a Toyota Mark X when he lost control of the vehicle. The Mark X then collided with a parked Toyota Axio. The force of the impact caused the Mark X to become airborne, and tragically, Dinario was ejected from the vehicle. Both father and son were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services responded quickly, but there was nothing that could be done to save the lives lost. The community has been left in shock and mourning as the investigation into the accident continues. Authorities are working to determine the precise cause of the collision and any contributing factors.
