Linstead, St. Catherine – Police have launched a search for a suspect involved in the brutal killing of a 55-year-old man in Linstead, St. Catherine, last night. The victim, identified as Vinton Anderson, a labourer from Lemonridge district in Banbury, Linstead, was attacked with a machete and fatally wounded.
Reports are that around 7:20 p.m., Anderson was in a yard in the community when he was suddenly assaulted by an unidentified man wielding a machete. The assailant reportedly struck Anderson repeatedly on the back of his head before fleeing the scene. Witnesses described Anderson as bleeding profusely from his injuries.
Anderson was quickly assisted and transported to the Linstead Hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
Police have since initiated a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and authorities are continuing their inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding this violent incident.
