A man listed in the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Wanted Wednesday campaign was shot and killed during a police operation in Land Lease, St Andrew, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Effin Clarke, also known by the alias “Elf.” He was reportedly among individuals being sought by law enforcement prior to the incident.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fatal shooting occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. during an alleged confrontation involving officers from the St Andrew Central Police Division. Authorities say a 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene following the encounter.
Further details surrounding the operation and the circumstances of the shooting are expected to be released as investigations continue.
