After nearly two years on the run, a Westmoreland man wanted for the murder of his wife has been captured by police in St. James.
Detectives at the Whithorne Police Station confirmed that 37-year-old Angrea Andre Morrison — who had been on the wanted list since December 2, 2024 — was apprehended during a weekend operation. Investigators say he was initially detained using a false identity, but routine checks exposed his true name and linked him to the long-running murder probe.
Morrison is accused in the killing of his 67-year-old wife, Dawn Rose Anderson, a naturalized British national who returned to Jamaica in November 2024 to sell African garments and specialty items she had imported.
Police reports indicate that Anderson spent one night at a Montego Bay resort before being collected by her husband. Instead of taking her to their Roaring River home, Morrison allegedly drove her to Negril — where she vanished without a trace.
In a twist, Morrison himself filed the initial missing persons report, telling investigators that he left his wife visiting a friend and she later disappeared. Suspicion quickly grew. Within days, Morrison and his twin brother, Kemar Morrison, fled the community and were named prime suspects.
The case took a grim turn eight days later when residents in Food Farm Common discovered Anderson’s body buried in a shallow grave.
Multiple police operations followed. Several relatives and associates were detained and questioned, and the victim’s luggage was recovered at a separate location. Authorities also reported that the Morrison brothers were seen driving Anderson’s vehicle before slipping through a police dragnet.
While Angrea Morrison is now in custody, police say the search continues for his twin brother, who remains at large
