Trelawny, Jamaica – A 31-year-old vendor has been charged with wounding with intent after allegedly stabbing several boys who reportedly taunted him earlier this month.
The accused, Troy Adamson, a resident of Ghetto district in St Ann’s Bay, St Ann, was arrested following the October 9 incident on Martha Brae main road.
According to a police statement issued Monday, reports from the Falmouth police detail that around 3:05 p.m., Adamson, who was selling cotton candy, got into an argument with a group of boys who were laughing at him. The situation escalated when Adamson allegedly threatened to kill the boys, before pulling out a knife and stabbing two of them in the head.
The boys attempted to flee the scene, but Adamson reportedly chased them down and inflicted further stab wounds to their faces before escaping on foot.
The victims were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and later released. The police have not disclosed the total number of boys involved in the altercation or how many were injured.
Adamson was arrested after being positively identified and was formally charged on October 15.
