KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt and his longtime partner, Kasi Bennett, are engaged after Bolt proposed during his 40th birthday celebrations in Kingston.
Bolt reportedly popped the question on Friday, August 21, during an intimate celebration at One Belmont. He presented Bennett with a five-carat, pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. Photos from the occasion show the couple celebrating the emotional moment with family and friends.
The engagement marks a major milestone for the couple, who have been together since around 2013. Their relationship became widely known during the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Bolt and Bennett are parents to three children — daughter Olympia Lightning and twin sons Thunder and Saint Leo.
The eight-time Olympic champion celebrated his 40th birthday on August 21, adding an especially memorable moment to the milestone occasion.
The proposal also puts to rest years of speculation surrounding the couple’s plans to marry. In 2016, Bolt denied that he was engaged after a doctored Snapchat image sparked rumours that he had proposed to Bennett.
Now, after more than a decade together, the couple appears to be taking the next step in their relationship
