Jamaica News, April 9, 2018 – Unidentified Male Chopped to Death in St Ann
St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The police in the parish of St James say they are now trying to get the identity of a man, who was chopped to death by an angry mob in the parish on Sunday afternoon, April 8.
The investigators also pointed out that the deceased is believed to be in his late twenties to early thirties, is of dark complexion and medium built.
Reports are that shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, the unidentified male reportedly held up a female in Mines District and attempted to rape her.
The female shouted for help, and the accused who was reportedly armed with a knife, grabbed her handbag and ran.
Several angry community members who learnt what was taking place, armed themselves with machetes and chased the accused.
He was later held and chopped to death. The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
