Jamaica News, Portland: The Portland police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to identify a female who is believed to have died by drowning in a section of the sea, in the vicinity of Foreshore Road in Port Antonio on Monday, April 23.

It is further reported that the unidentified female is believed to be in her thirties, light complexion and prior to her going into the water she was wearing a white blouse and jeans pants.

Residents in the area informed the police that, the female was seen alive at the beach about 10:00 a.m. on Monday.  Minutes later, she was seen at the rear of the compound taking off her clothing as if she intended to take a swim.

It is further reported that the sea was a bit rough and that section of the water was very dirty, but still, the unidentified woman was seen going out into the water.

It was later discovered that she met difficulties and submerged before help could reach her.

The incident was reported to a team of Municipal police employed by the Portland Municipal Corporation, and they managed to fish her lifeless body from the water. She was pronounced dead at hospital.
