St Catherine, Jamaica – Two men, identified as persons of interest in the shooting death of a fruit vendor earlier this week, were fatally shot during a joint police/military operation in the St Catherine North Police Division on Friday morning.
The identities of the deceased men have not yet been released.
According to reports, law enforcement officers conducted an operation at a premises in Ewarton in search of the suspects. During the operation, the two men were fatally wounded, and a firearm was recovered.
The operation follows the murder of 27-year-old fruit vendor Maurice Marrah, also known as “Telto,” who was gunned down on Tuesday around 8:20 p.m. while selling at his stall on St George’s Street in Linstead. Another man was injured during the attack.
The police have intensified their investigations into the incident and continue to maintain a strong presence in the area. Further updates on the identities of the deceased men and the ongoing investigation are expected.
