Westmoreland, Jamaica — Two men were fatally shot during a reported confrontation with police in Barham District, Frome, on Sunday morning.
Reports indicate members of a police team assigned to surveillance operations allegedly came under attack and responded with gunfire. Following the incident, Timothy Thompson, also known as “Belly,” and Dirk Dunkley were found suffering from gunshot injuries.
Both men were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police also reported the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in connection with the incident. Investigators said a third suspect escaped into nearby cane fields and remains at large.
Three members of the Westmoreland Operational Support Team were listed as victims in the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
