Two Killed in Early Morning Crash in St. James

ST. JAMES, Jamaica — Two people died early Friday morning following a two-vehicle collision on the Rose Hall main road in St. James.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight, around 12:05 am, and involved a Honda Stepwgn and a Toyota Probox.

Preliminary reports indicate the Probox, traveling from Falmouth towards Montego Bay, crossed the median and collided with the Stepwgn, which was heading in the opposite direction. The driver of the Stepwgn and a passenger seated directly behind him sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The names of the deceased have not yet been released.

The Stepwgn, reportedly operating as a taxi, was carrying ten passengers in total. Several other occupants were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Probox had four occupants, one of whom was hospitalized.
