St. Ann, Jamaica — A deadly gun attack at a bar in the Ocho Rios Market has resulted in the deaths of two men and left two others in critical condition following a late-night incident on Thursday.
The victims who lost their lives have been identified as 25-year-old Stevie Drake, also known as “Six,” of Great Pond, St. Ann, and 55-year-old Basil Arthurs, an employee of the Ministry of Health from Top Bay, Discovery Bay.
According to reports, the shooting occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. when an armed individual entered the establishment and began firing at patrons. Four men were struck during the incident.
Drake died at the location, while Arthurs was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Two other men, 32-year-old Jaleel Spike of White River, Ocho Rios, and another identified as Shem Cornie, remain hospitalized in serious condition as they undergo treatment.
Investigators report that the assailant fled the scene in a waiting motor vehicle. Police are continuing their investigations into the attack.
