St Mary, Jamaica – Two police officers are being investigated for their suspected links to three murders, including the recent shooting death of businessman Garfield Singh in Boscobel.
Law-enforcement sources confirmed that the probe also involves a separate double homicide, though details have not been released due to the sensitive nature of the case. A civilian is also in custody in connection with Singh’s death.
One of the officers was reportedly detained nearly 19 hours after the fatal shooting. He was intercepted along Port Henderson Road in Portmore, St Catherine, in a vehicle allegedly carrying two illegal firearms and more than 60 rounds of ammunition. An M16 rifle was later found during a secondary search at the station, according to police. The circumstances surrounding the second officer’s detention remain unclear.
Superintendent Anthony Wallace, head of the St Mary Police Division, confirmed that an active investigation is under way, noting that the Criminal Investigation Branch is working to solve the case as quickly as possible.
