WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — A 37-year-old construction worker has been charged after allegedly shooting a man in the chest with a spear gun during an incident in the parish last year.
Charged with wounding with intent is Cashmar Tomlinson of Strathbogie. He was formally charged on Monday, and his court date is now being finalised.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police indicate that about 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Tomlinson allegedly used a spear gun to shoot a man in the chest before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
Residents reportedly assisted the injured man and transported him to hospital, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Following months of investigation, lawmen carried out an operation on Monday, February 16, during which Tomlinson was arrested and subsequently charged. Police say the matter is now before the court.
