Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – What started as a midnight police patrol in Denham Town turned into a bizarre “goat heist” takedown, when officers chased down a speeding car and uncovered four goats crammed inside the vehicle.
Now, two Clarendon men, Andrew Beacon and Anthony Spence, are behind bars, charged in connection with the brazen livestock theft.
Beacon is charged with receiving stolen property, while Spence faces charges of unauthorised possession of property.
The Midnight Chase
According to reports, about 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025, alert police officers spotted a Toyota Fielder motor car flying through Denham Town. Suspicion raised, the lawmen gave chase.
The driver, later identified as Spence, allegedly swerved into a yard said to belong to Beacon. In a desperate move, Beacon reportedly tried to slam the gate shut — but the police were faster.
When officers searched the vehicle, their shocking discovery was made: four goats stuffed inside the car. Both men were promptly arrested.
Courtroom Drama
When the men appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, September 30, the case took another twist. Presiding judge Peter Wilson released the Toyota Fielder on a $100,000 bond, but warned the owner not to sell or alter the car until the case is finished.
The judge also signaled he wants answers about who exactly had access to the car the night the goats were stolen.
What’s Next
With the statement from the goats’ rightful owner still outstanding, the matter has been put off. The accused men, Beacon and Spence, are set to reappear in court on October 10, 2025.
