St. Thomas, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – In a massive weekend crackdown, police in St. Thomas intercepted over 1,600 pounds of compressed ganja along the Pamphret main road, leading to the arrest of two men.
The operation, which involved the interception and search of two motor vehicles, uncovered 33 knitted bags filled with ganja, police report.
The suspects have been identified as 41-year-old Rayon Chambers of Whitehouse, Westmoreland, and 30-year-old Tekashi Foster of Slipe, St. Elizabeth.
Heavy Charges
Both men now face a string of serious charges, including:
- Possession of ganja
- Dealing in ganja
- Taking steps preparatory to export ganja
- Trafficking ganja
Their court date is currently being finalised.
St. Thomas on High Alert
This dramatic seizure marks the second major ganja bust in St. Thomas in just over a week, signaling intensified police operations against illegal drug activities in the parish.
Authorities have vowed to continue cracking down on drug trafficking, as the hunt for more suspects in connection with the massive haul continues.
