KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Jahiem Neil, a 22-year-old man from Trench Town, Kingston, was sentenced to 62 years in prison after appearing before the Kingston Gun Court on Friday. He faced charges including Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, and two counts of Shooting With Intent.
Neil, known as ‘Tuggy’ and residing on East Road in Trench Town, received a sentence of 22 years and six months for Possession, and an additional 20 years and six months for the two Shooting With Intent charges. The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Neil will serve a total of 22 years and six months in prison.
According to reports, on January 7, 2023, Neil confronted individuals involved in a family dispute as they returned home from an all-night party along East Road. He allegedly opened fire at them during the altercation. The incident was reported to the police, leading to Neil’s arrest and subsequent charges on April 4 of the same year.
