MONTEGO BAY, ST. JAMES — A 54-year-old vendor residing at Providence Heights, Flankers, St. James, was apprehended by police on Saturday night after her vehicle was searched and found to contain ganja and a quantity of ammunition.
The incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. when police, acting on information, conducted a search of the vendor’s motor vehicle parked near the Old Hospital along Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in Montego Bay.
During the search, officers discovered a black sock concealed behind the driver’s seat containing eight live 9mm cartridges. Additionally, a camouflage bag found on the driver’s seat was searched and found to contain 17 small wraps of ganja, along with Jamaican $10,000 and American $104 in cash.
The female vendor was promptly taken into custody by the police for further questioning and processing.
