Falmouth, Trelawny – The Trelawny police have formally charged 49-year-old Sherman Sterling with the murder of his girlfriend, 32-year-old Sandria Williams, whose body was found on April 5 along Holland Road in Trelawny.
Sterling, who hails from Salt Spring Road, Quarry District in St. James, also faces charges of possession of unauthorised ammunition, possession of a prohibited weapon, and use of a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
According to the Falmouth police, Williams, who was a resident of Albion Road in St. James, was discovered dead in the rural Trelawny area. Following a thorough investigation, including forensic analysis, Sterling, her boyfriend, was linked to the murder.
On Monday, Sterling was questioned by police in the presence of his attorney, after which he was charged. Authorities are currently finalising a court date for Sterling as the case moves forward.
The investigation continues as the police work to gather more evidence surrounding the circumstances of Williams’ death.
