A man has been found guilty of murdering another man who attacked him following a minor traffic collision in St. Thomas.
Raheem Burgher, a 27-year-old farmer from Danvers Pen, St. Thomas, was convicted on Tuesday in the St. Thomas Circuit Court.
The court was told that the incident took place on June 22, 2019, when 42-year-old Frank Williams, also of Danvers Pen, was driving his Toyota Corolla and struck the side-view mirror of Burgher’s vehicle but did not stop.
Later that day, Burgher confronted Williams at his home about the incident. During the confrontation, Williams reportedly attacked Burgher with a machete and a knife. Burgher managed to disarm Williams and fatally stabbed him.
Police arrived at the scene to find Williams with multiple stab wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Burgher was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 17.
