HANOVER, Jamaica — Three men are dead and two others injured following a two-vehicle collision along Norman Manley Boulevard in Hanover on Tuesday, July 15.
The deceased have been identified as:
- 65-year-old Calbert Hart of Cousins Cove, Hanover
- 47-year-old Owen Jackson of Cauldwell, Hanover
- 37-year-old Ricardo Baylis, a labourer of Haughton, Green Island, Hanover
Reports from the Green Island Police indicate that about 5:50 p.m., a brown Toyota Hilux was travelling west towards Negril when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Hilux veered off its path and crashed into a green Toyota Corolla being driven by Jackson.
The police were called to the scene, where Hart and Jackson were pronounced dead. Baylis and the driver of the Hilux were taken to hospital, where Baylis later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Hilux and a fourth occupant of the Corolla remain hospitalised.
The police are continuing their investigations into the fatal crash.
