ST ANN, Jamaica — Motorists using the north-south leg of Highway 2000 can now enjoy the convenience of topping up online, thanks to the launch of a new Online Epass platform by the Jamaica North-South Highway Company Limited (JNSHC).
The initiative follows discussions between JNSHC and the Government of Jamaica through the National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited (NROCC).
The system is designed to provide greater convenience, transparency, and control for users, making travel on the toll road network more efficient.
According to Robert Morgan, Minister without portfolio with responsibility for works, the move aligns with the government’s long-term goal of implementing Open Road Tolling across all toll roads, where motorists will no longer need to stop at toll booths to pay. The JNSHC’s EPASS platform is described as a major step toward this modernization effort.
Users of the new mobile app and web portal will be able to top up their Epass accounts online, view detailed account activity — including travel and top-up history as well as vehicle information — and monitor their current balances.
The platform is expected to be fully accessible to the public before the end of this quarter.
The North-South route connects Kingston to Ocho Rios and is part of Jamaica’s Highway 2000 network. Highway 2000 also includes an east-west route linking Kingston to Clarendon and Portmore, operated separately by TransJam Highways.
